The Victron shunt is required for current measurement with analog or digital monitors where the current is normally measured with a small voltage across a shunt. The printed circuit board with quick coupling that comes standard with the BMV battery monitors can also be mounted on this shunt. A printed circuit board is not supplied with this shunt.
The smaller the measurement voltage on the shunt, the smaller the impact on the rest of the system’s circuit. The small voltage falling on the resistor is evaluated by a measuring device which then displays the current strength.
